Calculate your cost per bale vs. your current wrap

What will XES cost you per bale?

Your inputs, your numbers — see if XES actually saves you money.

Your current wrap $0.00 — bales / roll
XES at 3 wraps $0.00 — bales / roll
You save with XES $0.00 / bale $0 / season
How is this calculated?

Wrap consumed per bale (ft) = π × diameter × wraps. Net wrap covers the cylindrical surface of the bale, so each wrap is one circumference (π × diameter).

Bales per roll = roll length ÷ wrap-per-bale. Cost per bale = roll price ÷ bales per roll.

We use the standard width × diameter bale-size convention from Texas A&M Extension (Banta, 2022).

XES recommends 2.5–3 wraps per bale on our patented knit. This calculator uses 3 wraps conservatively.

Your actual mileage depends on baler tension, bale density, forage species, and storage conditions. This tool is for estimation only.

XES® DualBond — A New Kind of Bale Net Wrap

Strands twice as wide. Thermally bonded. No knit, no loops, no shedding.

DualBond is a patented non-woven bale net wrap. Two HDPE strands, each roughly 2× the width of a knitted thread, fused at every cross point.

Three ways DualBond is built for the field

EASY TO LOAD

Lighter rolls, one-person change. 54–58 lb — no two-person swaps, no back strain.

EASY TO BALE

Smooth feed, clean cut. Non-woven grid feeds the knife clean. Same 3 wraps per bale as your current netwrap.

EASY ON THE BALE

No loose ends in your hay. Knitted wrap sheds frayed fiber into hay, then your cow. DualBond is thermal-bonded — nothing to fray.

DualBond vs. Traditional Knitted

  XES DualBond Knitted Netwrap
Construction Patented non-woven thermal-bonded grid Knit loops & joints
Strand width 4 mm — full structural strand ~2 mm thin threads
Roll weight
(48″ × 9,840′)
55 lb — one-person change 70–85 lb
Frayed fiber None — nothing to fray Loose ends shed into hay
Plastic per bale Less — wider strands, no redundant loops More — weight tied up in the knit
UV resistance Stronger — more stabilizer per sq. ft of exposed strand Less stabilizer per sq. ft

Why heavier isn't stronger

⚠ A heavier knitted roll isn't more strength.

It's redundant knit loops, thin threads, and waste fiber — with real costs: two-person swaps, more plastic in your feed, higher freight passed back to you. DualBond puts the strength in the strand: 20% lighter, with all of the weight doing structural work.

What you get with DualBond

  • Quick to load — lighter rolls, no helper, no back strain.
  • Smooth feed — non-woven cuts clean at the knife.
  • Clean release — pulls off in one piece, even frozen.
  • No frayed fiber — nothing to fray.
  • Stronger UV per sq. ft — more stabilizer per exposed strand. 12 months minimum.
  • Less plastic per bale — wider strands, fewer of them.

Not sure about your baler? Use our Baler Size Checker.

How many times should I wrap the net around each bale?

We recommend

  • Silage 2–2.5
  • Hay 2.5–3
  • Straw 3–4

Drier, lower-cohesion crops like straw need more wraps to hold their shape, and longer outdoor storage pushes you toward the high end.

How strong is XES net wrap? Will my bales blow out?

Independently lab-tested, our patented warp-inserted knitted chain structure with reinforced threads handles heavy, wet, and irregular bales without tearing.

Customers consistently report tighter, cleaner bales after switching to XES.

"Wrap works excellent down to two and a half wraps per bale from four on previous brand of wrap. Very satisfied." - B.N., verified buyer

Lower wraps per bale = more bales per roll = lower cost per bale.

Do you offer a warranty or satisfaction guarantee?

Yes. We stand behind every roll. Our warranty covers a minimum of 12 months of UV resistance - your bales stay protected from summer harvest through winter feeding.

If you encounter any quality defects during baling or storage, send us photos and we will analyze the issue and make it right. We also guarantee the exact length on every roll - you will never come up short.

How well does XES hold up stored outside through winter?

Our 12-month UV warranty is the floor, not the ceiling. Customer reports consistently exceed it.

"Holding up well at high elevation extreme climate and UV exposure." - M.S., verified buyer

"Using Extreme netwrap for 2 years now without any issues." - R.H., verified buyer

Our patented HDPE knit is designed for outdoor storage from harvest through winter feeding season.

How long does shipping take and what does it cost?

For multiple roll orders, deliveries may arrive on different days due to courier schedules - please allow 1-2 extra days for all rolls to arrive.

Need it by a certain date for haying season? Contact us and we will do our best to accommodate.
